About us

One Trade, Done Properly

We only do garage doors, we lead with repair over replacement, and we will tell you when the fix is free. That last part costs us money and it is the whole business model.

Why a garage door specialist

Garage door repair has a reputation problem, and it is earned. The trade has low barriers to entry, an urgent customer who cannot easily shop around, and a component — the torsion spring — that most people correctly sense they should not touch themselves. That combination invites bad behaviour, and plenty of operators take the invitation.

The standard version goes like this: a broken spring becomes a conversation about a new door. A noisy roller becomes a new opener. A sensor that needs wiping becomes a service call plus parts. None of it is quite fraud and all of it is why people dread making the call.

How we decided to work instead

We lead with the cheapest thing that actually solves the problem. On a door that will not close, that is frequently telling you to wipe the safety sensor lenses and hang up without paying us anything. We have a whole guide on it, which is a strange thing for a repair company to publish and exactly the point.

On a broken spring, it is quoting the spring pair rather than opening a conversation about replacement. On a fifteen-year-old opener that has stripped a gear, it is the $145 gear kit rather than the $700 new unit, unless the opener predates photo-eye safety sensors — in which case we will say clearly that replacement is a safety matter rather than an upsell.

Things we routinely talk people out of

  • New doors. Most doors quoted for replacement need parts, not replacement. The sections often have a decade or more left.
  • New openers. A gear kit or a board is usually a third of the price and the unit carries on for years.
  • Emergency call-outs. If your door is safely closed and it can wait until morning, we will tell you and save you the surcharge.
  • Service contracts. Inland you can do the twice-yearly maintenance yourself in fifteen minutes. We published the instructions.
  • Premium smart features. Nice to have, and they do not make the door open better.
The one thing we will not do Bypass or disable safety sensors. It gets asked, it is refused, and the reason is that garage doors killed children before photo-eye reversal was required in 1993. A failed sensor pair is $115 to $195. There is no framing of that request we will help with.

Springs in pairs, and why we insist

If your door has two springs, they went in on the same day with the same cycle count. When one breaks the other is at the identical point in its life. Replacing just the broken one means a second failure and a second call-out inside about a year, and we have watched it happen too many times to quote it any other way. We explain the arithmetic rather than presenting it as an add-on.

Cycle-rated parts as standard

Builder-grade springs are rated around 10,000 cycles, which for a family using the garage as the main entrance is well under ten years. We fit 20,000-cycle springs as standard because at our buying price the difference is small and it roughly doubles the interval. It means we see you less often, which is a strange thing to optimise for and the right one.

A deliberately small service area

Sixteen communities across Hillsborough County and south Pasco, and we turn down work outside it more often than people expect. Genuine same-day service and after-hours emergency response only work inside a radius you can cross twice in a day. Companies advertising three counties and same-day service are not doing both. See the full service area.

What we are not

Not a franchise, not a lead-generation call centre routing you to whoever bought the postcode, and not a general handyman service that does garage doors on the side. One trade, one county and a half, and the people who answer the phone are the people who turn up.

Licensing and insurance

Licensed and insured in Florida, with certificates available on request — and provided without being asked for HOA and association work. Permits are pulled where required, which for a new door in most Hillsborough and Pasco jurisdictions means every time, because a garage door is a structural opening governed by wind code.

Questions

About our company

[ADD YOUR FOUNDING YEAR AND A SENTENCE HERE.] Specific beats vague on this page more than anywhere else — a real number and a real name earn more trust than any adjective, so replace this placeholder before launch.

Yes, licensed and insured in Florida. Certificates are available on request and we provide them without being asked for HOA, association and property management work along with a W-9.

Only garage doors. Springs, cables, rollers, track, openers, sensors, panels and full door replacement. We do not do gates, fencing or general handyman work, and we will refer you elsewhere rather than attempt it.

Because almost nobody in this trade does, and the reason they do not is that it removes the ability to price by how worried the customer sounds. Published ranges mean you can sanity-check any quote, including ours.

Yes, and the sensor guide on this site exists to prove it. A door that reverses before closing is usually a wipe with a cloth. We would rather lose the call-out fee and be the company you ring next time something is genuinely broken.

No. The people who answer the phone are the people who do the work. That is the main practical reason our service area is as small as it is — we cannot honour same-day service across three counties with our own crew.

One year on parts and labour across every service, plus manufacturer warranties on openers and doors which we register for you. Springs carry their cycle rating. If something we fitted fails inside the year, we come back at no charge.

Where required, always. For a new door in most Hillsborough and Pasco jurisdictions that means every time, because a garage door is a structural opening subject to wind code. Permitting also documents the product approval your insurer will want.

Yes, and we leave them on site unless you want them taken away. If we say a gear was stripped you can look at the stripped gear. It is a low bar and this trade routinely fails to clear it.

Regularly, particularly around USF and MacDill. We can invoice the owner or manager directly rather than the tenant, coordinate access, and work to turnover deadlines. Certificates of insurance and W-9 provided up front.
